Yes it's true - we now have some selected dealer sponsors assisting
us in beta-testing our new Movie Poster Data Base (MPDB) by
listing items that they currently have available for sale.. (If you
want to read about the MPDB and/or take an interactive tour,

As long time collectors, we have always felt that there were two
areas of movie poster collecting that needed to be addressed: (1)
archiving movie poster images; and (2) creating a safe and friendly
environment for buying and selling movie posters. We feel that our
MPDB accomplishes both.
Movie Poster Archive
We feel strongly that if some movie poster images are
not archived, they will be lost in our hearts and sights forever.
Our goal (monumental as it may appear) is to collect and archive as
many movie poster images as we can locate. In that way, when the posters
themselves disappear from the market, as we know many of them will,
we will at least have an image for our memories. We recognize that
this will be a long-term ongoing project, but we feel it is worth
it for all movie poster collectors.
Finding Reputable Dealers
While the internet has made our lives so much easier,
it has also created a "virtual" climate that has practically
eliminated the personal interaction between movie poster dealer and
collector. Many collectors have no idea who they are dealing with
or if the dealer is really knowledgeable about movie poster collectibles.
The MPDB addresses this situation as well.
First, collectors will have full research capabilities
at all times while browsing in the MPDB. Second, we are limiting
dealers who can list items for sale to those that we know through
reputation and history to be reliable, knowledgeable dealers. All
dealers must sign an Honesty Agreement before they are allowed to
list items for sale. These two factors alone should eliminate a majority
of the problems that collectors experience online.
In addition, we are introducing our "Meet the Dealer/Sponsor"
pages, These pages are designed to bring back a little personal touch
to movie poster transactions by giving you some background about the
person you are negotiating with. For a sample, click HERE
During the test period, you will have to enter the name
of a movie in order to see if anyone has movie posters for that title
for sale. Soon we will have a clickable button that will allow you
to see everything that is for sale at that time as well as a bar to
choose which dealers items you would like to see. We currently have
about 800-1000 posters listed for sale. Our goal is to have 40,000
to 50,000 posters for sale in six months.
We have a Tutorial available for anyone who would like
to learn how to browse the MPDB. Click HERE
