NEWEST AD SPONSOR AND LAMP DEALERS
We are very happy to announce our newest ad sponsor:
Capital Restoration and Poster - This
company has it all. Tom Hammond, a long-time, very knowledgeable movie
poster dealer, has joined forces with his son Strother and daughter
Fontaine Ayala to form Capital Restoration. Tom will be offering his
movie poster inventory while Fontaine will provide top-notch movie poster
restoration. Their new site is just going on line. Be sure to check
it out HERE.
We are also happy to welcome two new LAMP dealers.
Klauer*Kollectibles - Kathy has an excellent inventory
of American movie posters ranging from the 1980's to current. Kathy
offers her great inventory at auction on Movie Poster Bid, the only
"posters only" auction website. To check out her listings,
Posterdemic! -The Russians are coming!
The Russians are coming! Thanks to Erich Linder. Erich has just purchased
a large collection of unusual, beautiful Russian movie posters. He is
currently working on his website, which also includes a GREAT selection
of International posters. We are happy to report that Erich will be
listing many of these on LAMP and on Movie Poster Bid. He is currently
inventorying so collectors need to "stay tuned" as this great
collection gets offered. His website is located HERE.
THE "MUST HAVE"
MOVIE POSTER CATALOG
Besson has just released his 2004 movie poster catalog. WOW! The images
contained in this catalog of mostly European posters are truly breath-taking.
There are also some very rare and one-of-a-kind posters featured. EVERY
MOVIE POSTER COLLECTOR SHOULD HAVE A COPY OF THIS CATALOG!
For more information on how you can get your copy, or to order any
of Dominique's other catalogs, visit his website HERE.
We have added some great new articles to LAMP's reference
Hammer Film Productions Limited - We
could't have a "Halloween" themed LAMP Dealer Auction (see
article on top right) without an article dedicated to one of the premiere
producers of horror classics - Hammer
Film Productions Limited. Although it is mostly associated with
1950's "B" horrors, Hammer actually began in 1936.
American Vitagraph Company - American
Vitagraph Company, known just as "Vitagraph," was started
in the late 1890's, primarily to compete with Thomas Edison. The three
founding fathers were later joined by a fourth partner, William "Pop"
Rock, who is credited with opening the first indoor theater expressly
for the purpose of showing films here in New Orleans. You can find the
Vitagraph Company article in our "Early Studio" section.
Cosmopolitan Production - This early
studio was formed in 1918 by William Randolph Hearst, primarily to promote
the films of actress Marion Davies. You will find the article, Cosmopolitan
Production, in our "Early Studio" section.
