Tooker Litho Company was located in New York.
One of the early litho companies that was able
to survive for quite a long time during the turmoil of the Litho
wars of the 1920s and 1930s.
In the 1920s the company, as J. H. Tooker Print
Co., was used by Vitagraph,
Lone Star, Metro Pictures, Monogram
and MGM.
In the late 1920s, Morgan
Litho acquired them to get their clientelle, but kept
them producing as a separate entity. They went under the name
of Tooker Litho. Notice the change in logos during that time.
Around 1933, while Morgan was going through some growth
adjustments and changes, Tooker was able to break away from Morgan and
became a totally separate company again. Notice the name change in 1933
as a partnership and then separating again when the name was changed to
Joseph H. Tooker Litho in 1937.
In 1942, the name was changed again to Tooker Litho
Co. NY. Notice the logos at the bottom.
After their independence, they worked for 20th
Century Fox, MGM and
United Artists during the
late 1930s and 1940s.
