While
the Weiss Brothers' Numa Pictures Corporation was solely responsible
for the production of The Revenge of Tarzan and took the credit for
production of the serial "The Adventures of Tarzan", the
actual production for "The Adventures of Tarzan" was handled
by the Great Western Producing Company.
This
production company was partly owned by Oscar and Louis Jacobs. Julius
Stern, a nephew of Universal Pictures chief Carl Laemmle, was the
other owner.
The
star of the 1921 "The Adventures of Tarzan", Elmo Lincoln,
also appeared in a couple of other serials for Great Western, "Elmo,
the Mighty" in 1919 and "Elmo, the Fearless" in 1920.
