In most parts of the world, Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath are no longer front page news. However, for people living in the region, it is still a daily battle.

For those who are still following this saga, I offer a link to a fascinating interactive map which demonstrates through a series of slides exactly how New Orleans and the surrounding parishes flooded. It shows that the flooding was caused by a series of levee breaks and breaches in a number of areas over many hours. The map was released by the local newspaper, the Times Picayune. 9/11 MOVING MEMORIAL HAS SPECIAL MEANING TO LAMP

The newest tool in the country's war on terror is currently sitting on a dock along the Mississippi River in Avondale, Louisiana, a 15 minute ride from our home. The greatest warship ever built, the USS New York is a moving memorial and tribute to the heroes and victims of the 9/11 tragedy. What sets this warship apart from others -- the bow stem is built from 7 tons of salvaged steel recovered from the World Trade Center towers.

The LPD21 has EXTRA special meaning to us personally and to LAMP since our son-in-law and LAMP database programmer, Mark, provides the ship's programming and computer support during its construction.

WE'RE GOING TO CINEVENT

After nine months of dealing with our post-Katrina woes, Ed and I are taking a short break and heading to our first ever Cinevent. We will be staying at the Midwest Hotel and Conference Center, the home base for Cinevent. We will be arriving on Thursday night and leaving Sunday.

We would love to meet fellow movie poster collectors and dealers. If anyone would like to meet with us to discuss posters or LAMP or Katrina or any other subject, you can contact us at the hotel under the name Ed Poole.

NOTE: We will have our laptop computer available for anyone who has any questions, or would like a demonstration or instructions on how to get the best usage of the LAMP sites.

Even though LAMP is growing rapidly in the amount of posters that are available for sale (almost 40,000), we have a LONG way to go. Our LAMP Dealers have a combined inventory of over 3 MILLION posters available. We know that we will NEVER be able to get everyone's inventory online, so we have created a new Expanded Search Page to use when you can't find it for sale on LAMP.

The new Expanded Search Page lists ALL the LAMP Dealers divided into two sections:

Dealers without search bars on their sites

If you do not see the poster for sale in the Image Gallery or in the Additional Posters Section, you can visit this page to get a quick view of the individual LAMP dealers and their areas of specialty for a more indepth search.
