Welcome to FilmPosterArtists.com
Our objective is to compile and document as much information as possible on the
movie poster artists that have given us such wonderful memories through their fantastic artwork but quite often have remained in complete obscurity.

Without sound or movement, a movie poster must  attract the viewers’ attention, and somehow portray the  whole spirit of the movie at a moment’s glance.

A great deal of the success or failure of the film rests  on the movie poster artists' ability to entice the viewer  to want to see the film.
With the beautiful artwork and the soul of the movie in  one piece of paper, it’s no wonder why movie poster  collecting has become so popular. It’s like bottling your  favorite memories of a movie and saving them for later  on this simple poster.
The movie poster artists that carry this heavy burden  have to be some of the best in the world, so we take this  site to salute these mostly unheralded giants that a  great deal of our collections are based upon.
How terrible would our collection be if each movie  poster only had the title on it.

Poster Artist of the Month

John Alvin

With the passing of John this  month, we wanted to show some  of the GREAT artwork that he  produced. His wonderful artwork  has delighted untold numbers of  collectors. John was considered  one of the greatest poster artists  ever.

Something to remember

Each country is different in  the variety of poster sizes  that were used AND the  way the poster artist  worked with the studios.  Quite often different artists  would do artwork for  different poster sizes, OR  the artist would supply  several different pieces, so  take a look at the different  pieces for each film
