By the Numbers

for our 7th Anniversary

We have come a LONG way in the past 7 years and I wanted to stop and take a look just to see how far.... By the Numbers.

These are as of January 1, 2008:

We are averaging between 8-10,000 visitors (not page views or hits) PER DAY on the LAMP sites.

We are getting ready to release our 5th Reference Publication (Collecting Movie Posters, Learn About Movie Posters, LAMP Dealers Market, US Movie Studio Production Codes and coming next month Collecting International Movie Posters)

Size:

We state that we have over 200,000 pages on the LAMP Websites, but we don't actually know how much more. And we don't know how to check to find out. Our tracking program doesn't go up that high. I recently did a file search through our system and just under the Learn About Section there were over 363,000 files. We also believe that we have gone over 1 MILLION cross-links on the LAMP sites.

We have had to break LAMP into numerous sites. We now have 30 registered domains with 19 of them active with each expanding in different directions.

Besides the largest Movie Poster reference site in general, we are also the largest US Movie Poster reference site (USMoviePosters.com) and the largest British movie poster reference site (BritishFilmPosters.co.uk). And we're gearing up to become the largest French Movie Poster Reference site and becoming the largest movie studio information site.

Archive:

While there are several movie poster image sites on the internet, we wanted something completely different.
The sites that we found either had:

(1. poor or greatly varying quality images because they relied on collectors to put in the images,
(2.
little or NO information about the posters or
(3.
were archived sales records filled with massive amounts of duplicates and just basic info about that poster only.

As a reference site, we wanted something that NO ONE else had .... "title information gathered together and cross referenced to thousands of articles for explanations, research and documentation in every direction".

We knew that it would be slower to develop this but we figured that the end result would be a reliable archive that could preserve and document our hobby and the industry. It took 10 months just to develop the program to handle this massive project and we did the test for it in 2003.

After 3 years we have 61,442 images in the archive..... which we think isn't too bad. That is larger than most image places, but there are a few image databases that have more. BUT..... what you may not know...
AND what NONE OF THE OTHERS HAVE....

WE ALSO :

1. divide posters into 25 different poster types in the archive.
2. sort film titles into 57 different genres.
3. track posters from 76 countries
4. track 112 different posters sizes (and getting ready to expand it again)
5. document over 300 movie poster printers around the world and track 115 in the archive
6. track 835 film studios from around the world in the archive
7. document over 1200 poster artists and have attached 447 to lists and images of their posters in the archive.
8. document 1000s of litho plate numbers
9 . document over 6000 reissues.
10 . have over 7000 larger and high res images online - for members and sponsors only
11. compile and cross-reference 15,000 NSS numbers
12 . tracking 28,379 directors and writers in the archive.
13. posted 61, 442 poster images online
14. have 164,421 film titles listed - not the largest but decent.
15. Each title and poster fully cross-reference by ANY AND ALL of the categories above with 100s of articles of explanations.

AND WE HAVE THEM ALL "SORTABLE" IN OUR ADVANCED SEARCH SECTION.

GO SEE OUR NEW SET OF VIDEO TUTORIALS ON THE DATABASE AND ARCHIVE AND YOU MIGHT BE SHOCKED HOW EASY IT IS TO USE.

YES... just go anywhere else and TRY to sort British Quads in a certain time period, with a certain artist and printing company..... THAT'S what we wanted dealers and collectors to have access to!!!!
Other hobbies have all types of research material available...... WHY CAN'T WE?????
And now that it's in place - it will only get bigger and better.

Other Areas:

Though the articles and the archive are the heart of the LAMP sites, there are numerous other areas of importance.

Dealers Market - now online with over 300,000 poster prices - both auction prices and posters for sale. We are adding as fast as we can and should have it to 500,000 very soon. - Members and Sponsors Only

Studio Production Codes - we have over 20,000 studio production codes online from our US Movie Studio Production Codes book - EXCEPT we are cross referencing them with the image archive and NSS numbers.

Movie Video Database - for hard to find videos - we now have over 10,000 videos, CDs and DVDs now in the MVD.

We have literally HUNDREDS of articles online.. and with the new LAMP Navigator and the LAMP Video Tutorials, it should become a lot easier to find whatever information you are looking for... AND WE CONTINUALLY ADD MORE.

just to name a few.
