We have created this section to help you locate more difficult
information. There are literally hundreds of variations of searches, and our database is quite large, so we have divided the searches
to make it easier for you to find your information. Each advanced search
covers a different area. Look over what information each one covers and
decide which one you need, then click on the particular search. If you need help, we have 4 video tutorials prepared to step you through the different types of searches. It takes 2 to 3 minutes to download the tutorials but all of them load at the same time so you can go from one to the other. If you have never used the Archive or Advance Searches, we suggest that you take time for the tutorials.
We have 4 types of Advanced Searches: Movie Search,
Poster Search, Listing Search
and Item Search

The Movie Search is used when you need to find particular
movie titles. The sort information in the Movie Search is:
1. Release Name - if you know any part of the title or a keyword
2. Release Year - you can pick a certain year. We have a greater
than.. OR less than.. feature, which means you can pick a year and say I
want all films BEFORE that year OR AFTER that year.
3. Original Release - this function lets you eliminate reissues,
akas, etc.
4. Cast Name - Last name only - our database uses the director
as a key, so we try to have ALL directors. Beyond that we have loaded a
large amount of writers. We have just started loading major stars. Currently
over 28,000 names are loaded.
5. Country - if you want material from a particular country or
countries.
6. Studio - if you want a particular movie studio. We currently
have over 720 studios that we are gathering information on .. and constantly
adding. The country that is studio is in, is in the [ ] at the end of the
name. We are adding articles on each as we get time to process the information.
7. Genre - we have expanded our genres into 56 categories to try
to break down the information better for you... so you can isolate areas
such as only WW2 or only baseball material, etc. Because of the expanded
genre breakdown, we are having to hand tag the films... so they are not
complete but increasing.
As an example for the Movie Search:
You could sort British films released by British Lion studios .. only those
before 1980.. and set the Genre to pull only horror and sci/fi films.
The search will produce ONE column .... just like
you used the regular search bar. All the regular icons will appear with the
explanation of the icons at the top of the page. You then can open the record
like normal.

The Poster Search is designed especially for dealers
and collectors and covers important collector details. This search is to
help you find specific POSTER IMAGES.
The sort information on the Poster Search is:
1. Poster Name -
2. Poster Year -
3. Release Name -
4. Release Year - the first 4 are very advanced searches to divide off combo
posters and aka's. Rarely used by collectors or dealers
5. Country - to divide off posters from a particular
country.
6. Poster Type - We have 25 different categories
of specialty posters.. such as Anniversary, Lenticular, Military, etc. when
you're looking for a specific type.
7. Size - We initially created this division to
sort sizes such as Half Sheets, Inserts, Banners... etc. We soon found it
just as important to sort specific sizes from other countries as well so
we expanded to its current size of 104 divisions in this section. You can
isolate specific posters such as Japanese B2 posters, Italian Locandinas,
British Double Crowns...etc. HOWEVER, we have already found that this still
isn't enough.. so in the next few months, we will be creating specific listings
for every poster issuing country that we cover, moving this section to over
500 divisions.
8. Artists - To isolate a particular poster artist.
This has become one of our most used areas. I am currently in the process
of completely reworking and expanding the artist sections. In the expansion,
I'm adding artist signatures, short bios and website info (when available).
We have over 300 hooked in the database BUT we have over 800 different artists
online in the different countries.... AND I have gathered information on
over 2000 artists.. I am currently working as fast as I can on US artists.
They are going into a new format and connecting into our database, so you
can see as I change them over to the new format and link them. After the
US, I will proceed on the UK, then France, Germany and Italy, Poland and
Czechoslovakia.. others after that.
9. Markings - additional markings on the poster...
such as lithographers, printers and NSS. The country is in a [ ] behind
the name. As I can add articles on each particular printer or lithographer,
links will appear on the name.
The search will produce 3 columns. The movie title,
the particular poster and a For Sale Column. You can then click which one
you choose.

The Listing Search is to find a poster that is FOR
SALE. THIS SEARCH ONLY COVERS POSTERS FOR SALE
THAT HAVE IMAGES IN THE ARCHIVE.
For Dealers, this provides you with a direct connect to another dealer
that may have the poster that your client is looking for.
For Collectors, this gives you a direct connection to a LAMP Dealer
that has that particular poster. We have over 18,000
posters for sale in the database that are pictured in the archive.
The sort information on the Listing Search is:
1. Dealer ID
2. Dealer Company
3. Dealer Name - if you are wanting to see the inventory of a particular
dealer..... it is easier to go to our Dealer
Section which already has everything sorted and all the contact information.
4. Poster Name
5. Poster Year
6. Release Name
7. Release Year - these 4 are very advanced searches
to divide off combo posters and aka's. Rarely used by collectors or dealers
8. Country - posters for sale from a particular
country
9. Poster Type - posters for sale of specific type
10. Size - posters for sale of a particular size
11. Artist - posters for sale from a particular
artist
12. Markings - posters for sale with particular

These searches can be combined to find specifics....
such as... to look for French Grande...... reissues .... with artwork by
Boris Grinnson... as an example.
The search will produce 3 columns - The movie title,
the particular poster, and the Dealer that has that poster for sale.

Our last Advanced search is to look
for posters FOR SALE... that are NOT pictured in the archive...
AND OTHER ASSOCIATED ITEMS FOR SALE. We only added this section online just
before Hurricane Katrina hit us last year... but it is RAPIDLY becoming a
monstrous section.
Even though we have over 18,000 posters
for sale that are pictured in the archive (the section above)...... we have
over 20,000 items already listed in the NOT PICTURED Section... and growing
rapidly.
The sort information in the Item Search is:
1. Item Type - These are the 8 categories of items
FOR SALE that are NOT pictured.... Since this is fairly new.. let me explain
the 8 categories:
A. Additional Posters - Studio -
these are theater posters that LAMP Dealers have listed For Sale that DON'T
have an image.. YET.. they have a small description of what is available
and the contact info.
B. Additional Posters - Commercial
- This is for Commercial Posters that do not have an image in our archive
yet.
C. Video & Electronics - VHS
- This is from our new Section of the Video Database.. they are VHS tapes
that are available For Sale
D. Vide & Electronics - DVD -
This is from our new Section of the Video Database.. they are DVDs that
are available For Sale
E. Video & Electronics - Other
- This is items For Sale.. such as Laser Disc, trailers, film, etc.
F. Clothing - T-shirts and various
movie oriented assessories
G. Novelties - non - toy items for
sale
H. Toys - movie oriented toys for
sale.

major stars ... We will be loading a lot more stars to make this more useable.

11. Genre - our breakdown of 56 different genre
divisions can sort any of the above
REMEMBER, this is a fairly new section
that is growing. The purpose is to sort a wide variety of movie material for
sale that is NOT pictured so you can see what LAMP Dealer has it. As an example,
you can put in Monroe (for Marilyn Monroe) and sort to see what VHS.. or DVDs
are available... and if there are any clothing or toys available on her.
The search will produce 3 columns - The movie title,
the particular item, and the Dealer that has that item for sale.
Our LAMP Dealers have a combined inventory of over
3,000,000 items for sale... so we expect this section to reach over 100,000
items for sale by early next year... and continue to grow rapidly.
