In an effort to get more information about the new series of unmarked Hammer quad reprints which have recently been licensed by Hammer, Ed contacted Steve Reed at PostersandStuff.co.uk, the company releasing the quads. Mr. Reed indicated that he was a Hammer collector, and that when the price of original posters began to skyrocket, he approached Hammer about a line of high quality reprints. According to Mr. Reed, it was his intent to add a marking on the front of the poster indicating either a 2007 copyright, a 50th Anniversary mark, the name of the new printing company, or some other marking to distinquish it from the originals. Hammer responded to Mr. Reed that they wanted the poster's artwork to be IDENTICAL to the original release with NO different markings. Ed suggested that he should at least consider a stamp on the back, although this will not alleviate any problems which will undoubtedly arise in the future. Rest assured, these quad reprints WILL create problems. However, with Hammer's insistence that NO additional marking be placed on the front of the poster, the stamp was better than nothing. We are happy to report that Alain Bourgouin has returned to work after being out ten weeks due to illness. Unfortunately, Alain has also had some computer problems and the email address on his website is not currently working. Bruce and his great staff are taking a much needed vacation and they're shop will be entirely close. They will be Tuesday and Thursday auctions that close on October 9th and 11th, respectively, that will be started while they are closed..
