Judy Film Company was in business primarily in 1916 and
used Unicorn Film Service as their distributor.
They released a line of silent comedy shorts called 'Judy
Comedies'
As an oddity, one of the films that they released called
Hubby's
Present starred Florence Lawrence, known earlier as the Biograph
Girl. However, in 1915, Lawrence was burned in a fire that was part of a
stunt. She tried to make a comeback after she recovered and made one film
with Universal
and undoubtedly this film for Judy Films and then became paralyzed. She
later tried a comeback in 1921 but was unsuccessful.
