Hi
Everyone!
We've
been extremely busy with some last minute assistance on the book.
It's at the printer and we're anxiously awaiting it to be released.
We want to thank EVERYONE for making our site such a hit. Last week
we had our biggest week EVER... with 22,000 visitors FOR THE WEEK.
We've
been delayed on the database with all the distractions. It's about
2/3 finished but there's still a lot of bugs to get out. We'll continue
to work on it over the holidays while we restructure other areas to
expand. I've already asked Santa if he could bring me more energy
and time for Christmas but he hasn't replied.
From
all of us to you and your family......
HAPPY
HOLIDAYS!!

Hi
Everyone!
I
wanted to let everyone know that I just put up a special section on
framing. Sue Heim has graciously listed the most frequently asked
questions about framing with her answers so we put it at the bottom
of the framing article. So if you about to frame that favorite poster,
be sure to take a look at Framing Q&As.
We
hope everyone has a great holiday this weekend!!! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Hi
Everyone!
We're
busily trying to restructure portions of the site and prepare for
our new database system. I've posted an outline of the direction of
the website so you can get a better idea of what we're trying to do.
If you're interested, click here.
I
also wanted to reminder everyone that was wanting a copy of our book
at the pre-publication price, there's only a few weeks left, so NOW'S
THE TIME TO ORDER. For all the details, click here.
We've been pleasantly suprised at how many stores from Europe are
ordering to keep onhand for sale in their shops. If you have a shop
and want to purchase books for resale, click here
We've
been wondering if anyone coming on the site is interested in trivia
and games? We've debated back and forth whether or not to put them
on the site. If you have an opinion, I'd like to hear it. Email me
at: edp@LearnAboutMoviePosters.com
We
are also preparing for a new section that we hope will be helpful
to a lot of collectors. We are creating an area for outside experts
to give directions. I haven't named the section yet but we
already have our first expert almost ready. Sue Heim from Hollywood
Poster Frames is preparing a section of the most frequently asked
questions and responses for the ins and outs of framing your poster.
We feel this should give collectors a lot better information on handling
what unfortunately has become a major problem between collectors and
their local framers. I'll announce it again in the bulletin when we
put it online.
Well,
back to the grind:)

Hi
Everyone!
I
wanted to let everyone know that I've started turning on a new section.
It's our 'BOOKSTORE'!
We've only turned on part of it but I wanted to test everything out
before we did tons of work and then found out that we had problems
with it. I've turned on the calender section and the reference section.
More will come on later this week, but we knew that this time of year
we wanted to compile the best list we could on movie posters and associated
areas for you. We know a lot of people pick up these for the end of
the year. This way we could help locate the best selection for you
AND it would help us by supporting the site at the same time. So be
sure and check out this new section and keep coming back while we
add lots and lots more.
Also,
did you check out our new section in history called 'Timeline'.
This is designed to give you an overview of the industry around the
world from the 1880's to current. Be sure and that a look at it and
let me know what you think:)

Hi
Everyone!
We've announced in the 'Movie Section' that we have stopped adding
information to that section. We are in the process of creating a gigantic
database that will both speed up the imput of information and give
it a lot more flexibility where you can search on a wide variety of
topics like, studios, year, or type of posters, etc.
We're pushing to have it online by our 2nd anniversary which is in
January, but I don't know if we can have it completely online in time.
We're still in the designing and de-bugging stage so it makes some
of the expansions questionable. I'll try to keep you up to date on
what's going on with it. We know that it will change the entire site.
So while you're watching football or enjoying something, just think
of old ed pulling his hair out and throwing things trying to get this
completed:)

Things
are finally starting to slow down a little more where we can get back
to normal(?whatever that is?) We have a lot of changes in process,
so let me try to bring you a little more up to date.
FIRST,
we have several new sponsors. (yeah!!!).
Karlheinz
Borchert - Karlheinz carries a really great selection of both German
posters and concert posters. With all the confusion over German posters,
Karlheinz also has a lot of instruction to help, so take some time
to go through his whole site. http://www.postertreasures.com
Adrian
Cowdry - Adrian seems to carry something from everywhere!! There's
great posters from all kinds of countries!! You definitely want to
visit this site! And Adrian's got the experience to help with any
questions that you may have. Check out his site at: http://www.cineartgallery.com
Gene
Arnold - Gene's got EVERYTHING from vintage posters and new releases
to reprints. You need lots of time to go through all of his stuff!
And it's worth every minute. Visit Gene at http://www.movieposters.com
Al
Soles - Al has a brand new site of new releases and reprints and what
a selection. And Al keeps up to the minute on what's coming out so
come see all the hot new items at his site:
http://www.movie-poster-bargains.com
Over
the next couple of days, you'll start seeing all the information and
their ads on the site, so be sure and look for them. These are the
people that keep us growing!!
Oh
yes!, be sure and take a look at the 'What's
New Log'. We've added 12 new articles and
updated 8 more this week.
This week I've been focusing on artist, studios and preservation.
And
yes, that's my youngest son on the front page. This shot was taken
in one of the mall corridors just before a costume contest.... yes,
he won best costume. They gave him a $250 gift certificate for KayBee
toys and 2 Saints tickets. You should have seen all the little kids
running when he walked down to KayBee toys in the costume to pick
up his prize!!
well,
let me catch up some paperwork and I'll try to post more regular again.
later...

It
is good to be back and be able to work on the site again. Lots of
new stuff to go over BUT FIRST!!!
We
have a couple of new sponsors to announce (yeah!!!).
The first is Dominique Besson. Dominique is located in France and
has an unbelievable selection of original posters and a great website.
We'll be putting a lot more info on the sponsor page. Be sure and
take the time to visit: http://www.dominiquebesson.com.
Our
other new sponsor is Marcel Elsener at MovieArt GmbH in Switzerland.
Marcel has a wide selection of all types of great memorablia. We'll
be adding a lot more info on his sponsor page soon also, so in the
meantime be sure a see all the great things he's got to offer at:
http://www.movieart.ch
Yesterday,
Grey had a tremendous auction at Heritage. We'll be posting the results
in the 'Poster News' section soon.
I
just finished updating the International section and adding info on
a few new countries. To keep up with all the new additions, I've made
a special page that I've been posting to. It's called 'What's
New Log' and is in the 'Poster News' section -
Tomorrow
is the last day for dealers who want to be in our upcoming book, we've
been contacted by the majority of major dealers and can't wait for
it to be released. Be sure to reserve your advance copy here and we'll
autograph it to you:)
Well,
back to work

I'm
back!! we just finished the final editing on our new book.... whew!!!
that was a lot of work! now it's gone to typesetting and in 2 weeks
we do the final check to make sure everything's ok..THEN to the printer!!!!
Shipping is scheduled for Dec. 6th. You'll want to reserve YOUR copy
just in time for Christmas.... (it also makes a great Christmas present
to any poster collector:)
NEXT
WEEK is the deadline for advertising in the book. If you were thinking
about it..DON'T WAIT!! contact me immediately before it's too late.
OK,
there is so much updating and catching up to do that it's mind-boggling.
I'm going to rest for a couple of days and start this weekend putting
on new material. we are now running behind several hundred pages...
so LOOK OUT!! I'm going to have to go into overdrive to try to catch
up.... we had initially set a goal to have the site up to 8000 pages
by our anniversary.
One
change that we will start immediately that will change the movie section...
some of you know that I had started putting NSS numbers and studios
on the front page of the movie pages.. well, we're changing that and
taking them off. Instead we will be putting a link on the front of
each movie page in the title for 'additional info'. We have so much
additional information that I've been scratching my head on how to
present it... Like litho information, rerelease info, cast info etc.
Being away from it helped.... this should solve a lot of the problems
that I was having and allow us to put LOTS of additional information
with just a click!! You'll see them coming online or I had put a list
in the 'Poster News' to tell what the new imput was. You can check
there as I put it in STARTING THIS WEEKEND.
OH
YES!! This weekend is the big auction from HERITAGE!! There's too
many great pieces in it... you need to check them out... go to the
sponsors page and look down to Heritage. click on the link next to
the name that says 'sponsors page' and it will show you all the great
stuff that they have. They've got some pieces that you'll definately
want to look at!! DON'T MISS OUT!
Well,
I'm going to go let my brain rest. I think I broke it:) come back
in a couple of days and you'll start to see all the changes.
'til
then
