Since we released the very first reference book in 1997, called Collecting Movie Posters (MacFarland Publishers), we have concentrated on research into every aspect of film accessory collecting. This includes a WIDE variety of information from printers (lithographers) with their logos, addresses, printers unions and plate numbers; poster artists including signatures and posters created; studios with histories, logos and markings; distributors with histories, logos and markings; national screen service data with histories and markings; reissue data with markings; contracts and legal information; censorship data, stamps and seals; production codes and much more. Document Trying to document everything is impossible, but we are dedicated to documenting as much as possible (we have been called 'track-a-holics'). We are also compiling and sorting information to attempt to recreate many areas that are already lost. This requires a massive amount of time to dig through records and input pertinent information. Present It is one thing to try to continually compile and document an unbelievable amount of film accessory information, but it is another massive problem trying to present that information in a usable manner. We have tried to attack this presentation problem from numerous directions. Next, our specially designed database (MoviePosterDataBase.com) was created in 2005 to be able to compile and house an unlimited amount of images and make information and poster variations available to the public. We also have a member area with hi-res images, with the ability to sort the information by ANY direction, such as by director, printer, markings, artist, studio, distributor, genre, poster type, etc. etc. In 2009, we added our advance research section (GlobalCinemaResearch.org) which is a membership site for advance collectors, dealers, auction houses and archivists. This area also expands into thousands of vintage trade magazines, legal documents and digs into more details for dating and authenticating material. In 2011, we ventured into the first state research (HollywoodOnTheBayou.com) to look into how to cross reference already compiled information with local newspapers and local information. In 2013, we are opening the first research site for stills (MovieStillID.com), a membership site for advance research into movie stills which will include our movie still archive. We have a total of over 30 URL's including the above major websites that encompass over 200,000 pages online and garner over a million visitors a year. This is in addition to our 14 reference books released since our beginning in 1997. Here is a list of the reference books issued.
