TRAILERS
Trailers
have been around for a very long time. It is the one to three minute
preview of a coming movie. Initially they were shown after the major
film was shown, hence the name ‘trailer’.
As
theaters grew, it was realized that they could sell more popcorn
and goodies if the trailers were shown in front of the film instead
of after. More people would also see the coming attractions. Trailers
have now branched to several formats including 35 mm, beta, and
even VHS. These versions are now becoming more common in the collector’s
market.
