The Movie Poster Data Base has a two-fold purpose:
1 - To archive movie posters images of all years, sizes, types and nationalities;
and
2 - To allow authorized LAMP-approved dealers to offer movie posters and
related items for sale.
There are currently over 150,000 titles with over 44,000 images. Adding images
is a time-consuming process, as the MPDB is actually a series of databases
that are interconnected. In order to allow our LAMP approved dealers to add
original movie posters that have NOT BEEN pictured and archived, we have added
a second section for non-archived posters for sale. This section appears under
the poster images that have already been archived or where there are no archived
images at this time.
The second box above is entitled "Commercial Items Not Archive Yet"
which includes commercial produced posters.
A series of MPDB Icons are used to indicate immediately which titles have
images and items for sale. These icons are found on the "Search for Movies"
Results Page that is displayed when a movie title is entered into the search
block: This Search Box is located on the LAMP
Movie Poster Data Base home page or can be accessed from the LAMP
Home Page.
Once a title is submitted, the MPDB will display a Results Page. This Results
Page will include the titles that match the requested search as well as informational
icons.
The icons indicate the following for a specific movie title:
- At least one poster image
has been archived and will be displayed when the title is accessed.
- At least one of the posters
whose image is shown on the Result Page is available for sale.
- At least one original
movie poster listed in the "Additional Posters " section is available
for sale.
- At least one commercially
produced poster is available for sale.
- A video is available for
sale.
- A DVD is available for sale.
- Items such as reels,
trailers, cassettes, laser discs, electronic media is available for sale.
- T-Shirts, ties and other
clothing items are available for sale.
- Keychains, coasters,
premiere items, and other novelties items for sale.
- Action figures, dolls, games
and other toy items for sale.
