In addition to standard sizes of movie posters, movie studios would sometimes issue lobby cards in other sizes, which the studios sometimes referred to as "color panels." These would normally vary in size anywhere from 16" x 20" to 18" x 24".

For example, for the film Clash of the Titans, MGM Studios issued a set of six cards measuring 18" x 23" that were included in their deluxe campaign kit.

These special sized lobby cards are used only for major film productions.

  • These lobby cards are very rare and very popular with collectors because of their frameable size and great artwork.
  • Lobby cards were normally shipped flat, sometimes in the campaign kit envelope.
  • The term "photobustas" is sometimes used in the collecting market to represent these odd sized lobby cards or sets. This term is actually derived from the Italian word "fotobustas" which was a standard size Italian lobby set. (See International Posters)
