WELCOME
TO OUR
NEWEST LAMP SPONSOR
We are very happy to be starting our new year with a brand new LAMP
sponsor:
Filip De Volder, better known in the poster community
as Weatherking, has a wonderful selection of all genre from the 1950's
to current and is ready to assist you in any way to help you find that
special French poster. Originally from Belgium, Filip moved to south
France in 1997 in search of a nicer climate. Even though Filip has been
collecting for a while, he started selling as a dealer in 2001, specializing
in French posters. Filip is a Power Seller on the eBay auctions with
an excellent rating.

2005 LAMP CHANGES
LAMP has gone through a number of changes and additions
to kick off the new year. Here is a quick overview:
The most obvious change is the new Home page for LearnAboutMoviePosters.com.
The new home page makes navigating the new LAMP sites (yes sites --
read below) easier.
One significant addition to the site is a new LAMP
Dealer and Travel Map. By clicking on a particular state on the
U.S. map, visitors will be taken to a map that indicates the location
of LAMP Sponsors and Dealers as well as poster museums and exhibits,
film festivals, etc.in that state
Our Movie Poster Data Base now has its own URL: LAMP-MoviePosterDataBase.com.
Visitors can access the MPDB either through the LAMP site or its own
address. Since the two sites are integrated, maneuving from one to another
will remain seamless.
LAMP has also spawned a new sister site: LAMP-InternationalMoviePosters.com.
The new International Site was designed to compile and research material
for the top 45 poster producing countries, including a map of LAMP sponsors
and dealers.

MOVIE POSTER DATA BASE
REACHES NEW MILESTONE
OVER
10,000 POSTERS FOR SALE
The LAMP
Movie Poster Data Base has reached a new milestone -- we have
over 31,500 images loaded, with over 10,000
posters available for sale by our LAMP approved dealers.
We have a number of sorts available to help you browse through the
listings.
For
Sale by Size -- Use this sort if you're interested in particular
sizes, such as one sheets, lobby cards, etc. Once you're at the "Size"
sort, simply click on the size you're looking for and you will see a
list of that size posters for sale.
For
Sale by Country -- If your interests take you around the world,
you can use this sort to choose a country and a size.
For
Sale by Dealer - Here is the place where you find the most reputable
of movie poster dealers. Locate your favorite dealer and see what he
has for sale.
We also have two great "POWER
SEARCHES" -- one for searching movies and one for searching
posters. These searches allow a more customized search.
AND NOW -- VHS TAPES
We are now adding VHS tapes to our MPDB. This will expand
to laser discs, reel-to-reel and other media. To see a list of these
hard-to-find VHS tapes, click HERE

LAMP YEAR END REPORT
The milestone above is not the only one reached by LAMP
during the year 2004. We expanded reference articles; introduced the
concepts of LAMP Approved Online Auction Dealers, the LAMP Approved
Logo and the Poster Restoration Certificate; added 1500 titles to the
Movie Poster DataBase and much more. We tracked approx. 1.6 million
visitors to LAMP from over 100 different countries.
AND NOW FOR 2005 ... We have a number
of programs under development for the coming year. These include: updates
on framing, restoration, studio history and artists articles; adding
VHS, Laser Disc and other movie-related items to the MPDB; adding an
article archive, movie poster price history/guide; etc.
CAN'T FORGET THE WORM ...
Unfortunately, a year end review must include the dreaded
"WORM" that affected our host server's computers in December.
This worm did a TREMENDOUS amount of damage, losing well over 250 articles
as well as destroying our backup. We have put up some older versions
of articles and still have hundreds of dead links. We're going to have
to spend a LOT of additional hours trying to rewrite and reconstruct
and update all of those areas. The majority of the remaining damage
is in the History Section.
For complete details on the year 2004 and the plans for
2005, click HERE.
Heritage Vintage Movie Posters (HVMP), the world leader and world-record

the third Sunday of every month, beginning on December 19, 2004. Their
current auction ends on January 16, 2005. Click here
