Louisiana Film Channel - Flashback Series

We created a weekly series for the Louisiana Film Channel that would highlight a different film each week. Below is film they released 'About Us' and then the 23 episodes that were released starting August 2020.

Here is a tribute to Louisiana's First Lady of Film - Leatrice Joy (Zeidler)

Nichols State University - We presented the first state exhibit on Louisiana Film History at the Ellender Memorial Library at Nicholls State University from Feb. 4 - June 21, 2013. The exhibit consisted of 27 glass cases (47x96) in chronoligical order covering all time periods starting from 1896 - 2010. Along with the historical information were 100 original posters with some from each time period. We also had 6 glass tables showing the following genre: Mardi Gras; Sports; Music; Plantations; Voodoo; and Swamp/Cajun. In addition, we had 50 vintage movie trailers from old Louisiana films being shown in the exhibit room.

Slidell Exhibit - March 2020 - This is a quick view of the exhibit which was supposed to travel around the state in 2020 but happened just as the pandemic hit.

Slidell Exhibit - January-February 2022 - We did an exhibit called '50 Shades of Louisiana: a Filmmakers Paradise'. The Lt. Governor came and wanted to create a travelling exhibit, but problems prevented it. Loyola film students came to make a short documentary using the exhibit as a background. But by the time editing was completed the students had graduated. So we present here the documentary they created - plus we thought the exhibit was important enough that we created a book for those wanting the information

Vitascope - West End Park - Where the first presentation of films in Louisiana were viewed on June 28, 1896 .At the end of the West End Park presentation, Vitascope moved to Canal St. to open the very first seated indoor movie theater in the United States, called Vitascope Hall.
