History
The parish was named Evangeline in honor of the Acadian people who lived further south; their history had been commemorated in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's narrative poem, Evangeline.

 

1975

Good Times Are Killing Me, The - Cast: Abshire.  Made for PBS TV cajun culture and music documentary filmed in Basile.

2000

Rhythm 'n' Bayous: Road Map to Louisiana Music - Dir: Mugge; Cast:  Jones, Ledet. Music documentary filmed in Baton Rouge, Eunice, Lafayette, Monroe, New Orleans, Shreveport, Ville Platte and Winnsboro.

2008

Laissez les bon temps rouler! - Dir: Bordogna; Cast: Voinche. Documentary of Cajun Mardi Gras filmed in Eunice, Lafayette, Mamou, St. Martinville, and Scott.
