Washington Parish
Angie, Bogalusa, Franklinton (Parish Seat), Mount Hernon, Varnado

History
Washington Parish was formed in 1819 by splitting off from St. Tammany Parish.
Franklinton became the parish seat on February 10, 1821.
Washington Parish is the most northeasterly of what are called the Florida Parishes,
for prior to 1821 it was a legal part of Spanish West Florida.

 

1987

Under Cover - Dir: Stockwell; Cast: Neidorf, Leigh. Action drama partially filmed in Abita Springs, Bogalusa and Slidell.

2007

Grip: A Criminal Story - Dir: King Jeff; Cast: Gorio, Winn. Urban drama filmed in Marrero, Boutte and Mt. Hermon.

2012

Exile, the - Warner; Cast: Miller, Thomas. Action horror sci/fi filmed in New Orleans, Franklinton, Gretna, Houma, and Norco.

2013

Shallow Creek Cult - Dir: King Jeff; Cast: Gorio,, King Jeff. First 'Found Footage' horror feature written, produced, directed and starring black filmakers. Filmed in Marrero and Mt. Hermon.

2014

Mourning Hills - Dir: Campbell; Cast: Bryan, Fredo. Drama partially filmed in Franklinton and Independence.

2015

Miracles Out of Nowhere - Dir: Randazzo; Musical biography documentary about the rise of the band Kansas partially filmed at Studio in the Country in Bogalusa.

2017

Hopeless: A Star Wars Story - Dir: Anglin; Short sci/fi filmed in Franklinton and Robert.
