The British Sixteen Sheet measures approximately 80x120
and is a fairly new size that started around 1960. This seems to be a replacement
size for the British 3 sheets, 6
sheets and smaller banners. I haven't been able to find any before that
time.
Even
though it's called a 16 sheet in the industry, the measurements are based
on the double crown (20x30) as a one sheet,
and it is 16 times the size of double crown. See our explanation on size
terminology on the article on Poster Sizes.
NOTICE: the sample on the left. This was taken from
the Thunderball
pressbook and shows the size and name. This size was used in all the
early Bond films.
