The industry calls a Crown Poster a Half
Double. It was also called Day Bills or letterpress posters. The Crown measured
15x20.
The Crown (Half Double Crowns) were bought
in quantity by the theaters and used as give-aways or hand-outs very similar
to the American herald.
Shown on the right is a 15x20 issued in 1931 for Charlie Chaplin's City
Lights
NOTICE: here is an ad that was in a 1939
British pressbook for theater managers to purchase. The pressbook was sent
out just before the war and the paper shortages:

These printers were set up by the distributors
to provide these flyers to the theaters.
This size is now rarely
used and has been pretty much discontinued.
