Archibald Nettlefold, from the wealthy Birmingham
industrialist family, made his entrance into show business in 1921 as a
producer, leasing London's Comedy Theater. In 1923, he formed Anglia Films
in an attempt to move from theater in film.
In 1926, Nettlefold purchased the defunct
      Hepworth
      studio, Walton-on-Thames,
and changed the name to Nettlefold Studios, moving his Anglia Film players
      with him.
In 1930, Nettlefold changed direction and
leased the studio to independent and US studios until the war. Nettlefold
      died in 1944.
Not much records of Anglia Films productions
      after 1930.
