In 1959, a consortium of filmmakers formed Bryanston
Films. The company was comprised of Maxwell Setton, John Bryan, Tony Richardson,
Ronald Neame and led by Michael
Balcon.
Bryanston focused on independant production and
was backed by British Lion and Twickenham Studios. In 1961, the UK arm of
Seven Arts also became a backer.
Bryanston released a variety of successes until
1965, when they were bought out by the television company, Associated Rediffusion.
NOT to be confused with the Independent US Distributor
Bryanston Pictures which was the distributor of low budget horror such as
Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Here's the films that we have in our archive
on Bryanston
Films.
