| With Louisiana currently third in film production in the United States, we believe that research and preservation of Louisiana Film History is essential. Whether you are doing research or just looking through, this free site is dedicated to education and advancement to remembering Louisiana films. Stop and see what Louisiana has done. | ||
First State Exhibit We now have our first state exhibit of Louisiana Film History available to the public at Nicholl State University in Thibodaux. It is in the Ellender Memorial Library, in the Archives Exhibit Room. We have 100 original pieces from our personal collection in the exhibit. It is currently open, with the official opening on March 4th. We will be giving a one hour lecture and personal tours of the exhibit on that day. Here are 2 local newscast about the exhibit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkuKq6m5dyg The exhibit will be there until June 21st. For classes, group or special tours, please contact library archivist Clifton Theriot at (985) 448-4621 or email clifton.theriot@nicholls.edu
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This site is under construction and in a 'beta-test'. We are in the process of installing records on EVERY film made in or about Louisiana with documentation, images and back-up files and records. For those that might need more indepth information, we have a call-in reference line with additional records. The 'fancier' fringe website effects will be put in when we finish with the installation and beta-test. |
