MASTERPRINTS
There
has been a lot of discussion about Masterprints.. what are they?..
and how are they different?
Over
the last few years, there has been a rise in reproductions of older
posters. Of course, the standard reasons apply, like: can't afford
the originals or I'm not a collector but I love the image, but this
is a new size. A group of reproductions that have been gaining some
popularity measure 11x17.
David
Graveen, who has been a publisher of 11x17 reproductions for many years,
distributing over 1500 different 11x17 reproductions, received a license
from Universal Studios to produce 45 different major Universal posters
in the 11x17 format to be called Universal Masterprints.
Masterprints
are on a light card stock and a lot higher quality than the other 11x17
reproductions. These are basically higher quality commercial posters.
Here
are the titles that were licensed as Universal Masterprints: ALL OTHERS
ARE NOT REAL MASTERPRINTS... JUST TRYING TO USE THE NAME.
