Alamo Village - Brackettville (Highway
674, 6 miles north of town) - Alamo Village is a movie set that has been turned
into a tourist attraction. Some of the films shot here were: Arrowhead, Bandolero,
Barbarosa, Last Command and Two Rode Together. Each year is also presented
a reenactment of the battle of the Alamo.
Plaza Theater of Wax - San Antonio (across
from the Alamo, 301 Alamo Plaza) - has a movie section with exhibits including
Ben Hur, the King and I and Doctor Zhivago.
University of Austin - has set up a the
first movie studio to create 8 independant films utilizing both regular actors
and crew and university students. Each film with a $1-3 million budget with
hopes of generating profit to continue the program. The first film (called
'Dot') to be released in 2005.
University of Texas - Harry Ransom Humanities
Research Center - has a large Gloria Swanson Archive and a collection from
Steve Martin.
Windmill Museum - Nederland (1500 Block
of Boston Ave.) - has all types of memorabilia of Tex Ritter.

- has a bronze statue in center of town where part of the film was made (although
most was shot in Canada)
Mary Martin - famous as Peter Pan - Weatherford
- Weatherford Library - statue of Peter Pan honoring Weatherford native
in front of the library.

Murphy - movie star and most decorated war hero - Austin
- Texas Military Forces Museum (West 35th Street and Loop 1 - MoPac Blvd)-
has a bronze statue at the entrance plus a large display. Farmersville
- Charles J. Rike Library (203 Orange Street) - bronze
statue plus large display and research - also a large memorial in the center
of town - plus numerous highway markers in Hunt County - Greenville
- Audie Murphy/American Cotton Museum (600 Interstate 30 East) - large
display of Audie Murphy memorabilia and home of the Audie L. Murphy Hunt County
Veteran’s Exhibit - also the W. Walworth Harrison Library (I-30 exit
94B) has a room dedicated to Audie Murphy with numerous items of memorabilia.
