United Cinemas International operates
cinemas in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy and Portugal.
The company, which started in the early 1980s, was purchased by Terra
Firma Capital Partners in October 2004.
UCI operate 38 cinemas in the UK and
Ireland - that’s 380 screens full of entertainment! UCI employes
over 2,700 people to make sure that the 20 million guests enjoy the
thrill and excitement of cinema which includes a fantastic range of
premium food and drink to enjoy before and after the film in Café
Nescafe, Ben & Jerry’s and the Hollywood + Vine bars.
UCI is connected with Cinema International
Corp. for distribution as well as Paramount
and Universal.
UCI also operates the North West’s
only IMAX cinema as well as introducing thefilmworks cinema experience
in 2000.
