Otis Litho Company was located in Cleveland and did
work for a variety of studios.
In the teens, they produced plates for several studios
such as Argus
Enterprises, Biograph,
the US Government war films from WWI, and Film
Clearing House, as well as work done for A.B.C.
Co.
In the 1920's they worked for
Film
Booking Office (normally referred to as “FBO”),
who was the distributor for Walt
Disney at the time. Otis also did some work for Columbia
in the late 1920s
They also worked for several smaller studios
like Quality Amusement and Preferred Pictures.
They were also used by Warner
Bros from 1921 ( here's the 1921 WB serial 'Miracle
of the Jungle') until 1926 - notice the logo on this 'Sea
Beast'
Logo
In the teens, they used an oval logo where sometimes
a number is seen on the bottom of the oval. By the 1920’s they
normally used a square logo with numbers under their name. Notice the
plate number under the other writing at the bottom of the logo. We
have Otis logos from 1914 until 1932.
