A graduate of the Art Center College of Design
in Los Angeles, John began his illustrious career in 1974 with Mel Brook's
Blazing Saddles. Always wanting to participate in more than just the illustration,
John participated in over 120 film campaigns.
John Alvin, who carved a niche for himself
in Hollywood as the creator of evocative movie posters that drew generations
of viewers into theaters died of a heart attack Wednesday at his home in Rhinebeck,
N.Y on Feb. 6, 2008. He was 59.
